It it is a MGB. I got the TV show right away, but because it started in 1978 I guessed cars from that era and my first (very uncertain) guess was a Fiat Spyder. Then, after exchanging e-mails with Jesse, I started thinking that maybe the car was a lot older than the series. I went straight to British Leyland and thought any Triumph (including the Spitfire) from the TR4 to the TR6 because I knew that they came with a wooden dash. I even suggested a Midget or Sprite, but frankly I have never seen an MGB with a wooden dash so I discounted it. I was wrong. There are plenty of MGBs with such dashes on the net. Jesse was, I think jokingly, peeved when I got the show. He said he made the clue too easy, but I don’t know how many others came up with the answer. MWindham

Foose and Overhaulin transformed a 23 window VW... and it looks great.

A couple things that Chip and company did, they removed the great big VW from between the headlights (not a good idea) and relocated the turn signals below the headlights (great idea!)

Autoweek’s Vinsetta Garage

here's my opinion of it after watching it:

Started with a look at Bruce Meyer's cars, and some other collector guys with a LeMons Caddy and Bobcat, then a discussion on what is a car person/guy, a dialog with Courtney and Auto Week editor, in a E type Jag.... which the editor calls a Drophead Coupe. Get off your high horse, it's a convertible you egotist. Why are so many editors full of themselves? Ditto Jag owners.

Then a self promoting Auto Week dream week rundown of what the lucky 20 will get to do if they win.

Every moment of the show has a music bed soundtrack as if the watcher can't get enough music, or needs a sound bed to get them through the show. It's too loud. It's not necessary. It's annoying.

Every 5 minutes is a commercial, and self promoting commercial among others. So half the 30 minute window was commercial or self promotion.

So, in a nutshell, mediocre to annoying. Better than Hot Rod TV, but not by much. It's no wonder so many of us keep watching British Top Gear

Fonzie's bike was up for auction by Bud Elkins, 1949 Triumph Trophy TR5... so was James Garner's Baja Olds 442

The motorcycle that helped make Arthur Fonzarelli an icon of cool was up for auction. (didn't sell)

The 1949 Triumph Trophy TR5 was featured on the beloved sitcom “Happy Days.” Even without the Fonz connection, the bike would have a famous pedigree since it was owned by stuntman, racer and Triumph dealer Bud Ekins — a guy even cooler than Fonzie himself. He’s best known for dyeing his hair blonde and performing the stunts that studios wouldn’t allow his friend Steve McQueen to do, including the fence jump at the end of The Great Escape and some of the driving in Bullit

When Happy Days needed an authentic bike for Fonzie, Ekins obliged by removing the bike’s front fender, spray-painting the gas tank silver and replacing the handlebars.

Henry Winkler, who played the Fonz, couldn’t ride a motorcycle. Winkler told Emmy TV Legends that he rammed the bike into a sound truck the first time he tried to ride it. From that day on, the crew pulled him and the motorcycle on a board.

The bike is in need of a lot of repairs. The speedometer is broken, it's rusted and hasn’t run since the 1970s, according to the New York Times. Despite the bike’s condition, it was expected to fetch between $60,000 and $80,000.

The 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible offered was one of the two or three cars used for on-screen work during the 1972 Mod Squad season. Since Chrysler discontinued Challenger Convertible production after 1971, this car was updated with 1972-specific front and rear components, creating an interesting hybrid. Highly optioned with an automatic transmission, bucket seats and a console, it was also used as a PR/show car in period. Today, it displays an exterior refinish dating back 10 years

Our Gang / Little Rascals made this terrific taxi... donkey powered, a pusher really, with innovation in everything it does

 the license plate is a 1917 New York

  the below plate is a 1927 California plate

 

 The driver heard a yell for a taxi, and he reaches up to activate the brake to slow down

 below are the many different controls the driver has, you can see he pulls the choke (this was a real thing before advanced carbuerators, it allowed the carb to run better by adjusting the amount of air running through it "Choking" the air supply, creating a vacuum that made the fuel metereing circuit run richer )

 and here you can see how the mule power is stopped... they close off the food that mule eats. No food, and the mule stops walking toward it. When the lid is lifted, the food is available, and the mule walks toward it, moving the taxi

the fuel level indicator was a float on the water supply of the mule.

Meanwhile in the engine bay, Farina (the black kid before Buckwheat) is making engine noise by rolling a cam against the "ingine" stick

 Here you can see Farina in the engine bay... with a pump, starter, that ingine, and the radio

 When they pulled the radio string, Farina started singing, saying he was Tony Wons... I happen to have a donzen books by Tony Wons... and was surprised to hear this. It places the movie from 1929 to 1943 I think, as that is the last year of Tony Wons' scrapbook I have. They are very good

 After singing he played the kazoo

 You can almost make out the paddle that smacked the mules butt, and made him walk faster. It's hinged at the top of the spare tire pile on his back, at the upper left corner of this photo

 Above is the "Fare Master" that indicated how many pennies they were charging to go to a destination
