Jaguar XF Clay Model gets the Axe…Literally

All automakers create real-life size clay models of their upcoming production and concept models. Most of the times, once they have served their purpose, these prototypes are destroyed under secrecy.

In a eureka moment, Jaguar decided to make something out of the destruction of one of its older XF clay models by filming the designers and sculptors going primitively wild on the prototype and sharing the video with us.

Head past the break to take a look at it.

1957 XKSS bought for hill climbs. The Brits mean racing uphill on twisty roads, not cross country without a road.

"Hillclimb" in England means racing up a curvy road to the top of a hill; the road is paved the whole way. It's not like an American hillclimb, straight up the side

Jaguar Officially Confirms 5.0-liter Supercharged V8 for the F-Type Roadster

We first heard the rumors last week, but today, Jaguar confirmed plans to offer a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 alongside its new 3.0-liter supercharged V6 in the upcoming F-Type sports car.

We still do not know the performance specifications of the F-Type's force-fed V8, but it will likely be one or perhaps even both versions of the 5.0-liter unit offered by Jaguar.

While the British automaker has made no mention (yet) of any other powertrain being offered in the F-Type, Edmund's InsideLine is reporting that a "very reliable source" told them that the car will also be available with Jaguar's 5.0-liter V8.

U Imagine: Jaguar C-X16 Rendered into the F-Type Roadster

After Jaguar itself admitted the relationship between the C-X16 Coupe Concept that was displayed at last year's Frankfurt motor show and the firm's upcoming F-Type roadster, it was only a matter of time before someone put their photoshop skills to work.

In our case, that someone happens to be a Carscoop reader that goes by the alias 'Plattform' in our comments section.

Watch and Hear Jaguar's Upcoming Two-Seater F-Type Roadster on the Road

As pointed out in the video by former F1 driver and commentator Martin Brundle, it's been a long time since Jaguar had a new two-seater sports car in its range – more than 50 years if you start counting from the presentation of the legendary E-Type in 1961, around 20 years if you take into consideration the limited production XJR-15 and XJ220 supercars.

Jaguar's new proposal goes by the name F-Type and it is based on last year's warmly received C-X16 concept coupe. Even though it will launch as a roadster model, a coupe will follow later on.

"We showed the C-X16 concept in September 2011, and the reaction to it has been so positive that we've accelerated our development of an all-new Jaguar sports car," commented Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar Global Brand Director.

Dutch Design Studio Converts Classic Jaguar XJ into a…Hanging Bookshelf!

We're all for classic cars with character being preserved and used on the road, but we’re going to admit that there's something cool about the idea of having a real life vehicle as a decorative piece in your house.

This is exactly what Dutch design studio Denieuwegeneratie did for one of its clients for a project called "Dutch Mountain".

The designers incorporated a classic Jaguar XJ (Series III, judging from the absence of the triangular windows on the front doors) into a room, by converting it into a…bookshelf and hanging it on the wall!

Jaguar-Land Rover Forms New Joint Venture with China's Chery Automobile

Tata Motor's Jaguar-Land Rover premium division has signed a joint venture deal with Chery Automobile to sell cars in its home market of China. The agreement, however, is not final, as it has to be approved by China's regulators.

Just last December, China's National Reform and Development Commission (NRDC) and the Ministry of Commerce said that they would stop encouraging foreign investment in the car manufacturing industry to allow for “healthy development” of a market.

If you live in Europe and are interested in an executive station wagon, you will soon be able to add one more vehicle to your shopping list as Jaguar is attempting to draw customers away from the Audi A6 Avant, BMW 5-Series Touring and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate with its new XF Sportbrake.

Jaguar's second ever estate model is based on the XF sedan riding on the same wheelbase but it adds 48mm of rear headroom for the rear passengers while there's also 550-liter of boot space with the seats up and 1,675 liters when they're lying flat.
