1933 Morgan Matchless Super Sport, was another unusual animal to drive

"Operating the Morgan--one hesitates to say driving, much less riding--is an acquired skill. Left-hand-and-foot shifting like an old Harley, right-foot breaking like a new Venture, steering like a go-kart. And the throttle cable length somehow varies with steering wheel position, so the engine speeds up on right turns, slows to the left.

"So the three-wheel Morgan is different, and so what? To see one at full song--brass radiator gleaming, pipes crackling, the exposed rocker arms thrashing away, the pilot deftly twirling the controls while reveling in an excuse to wear a World War I Flying Ace helmet and goggles--is to know the three-wheeler's time never quite came, and will never go away."

wow, interesting, and well written! Totally swiped from a new blog that has a lot of my attention and I will be posted a quick look at in a bit http://progress-is-fine.blogspot.ca

Morgan Charges to Geneva with All-Electric Plus-E Roadster

If you throw a stone in the air at any stand in this year’s Geneva Motor Show, chances are it will land on an all-electric or hybrid car. Even all-out supercars like the Honda/Acura NSX and the Infiniti Emerg-E have been electrified.

However, if we asked you to pick one brand that you believe won't have such a model on its stand then Morgan Motors would probably get your vote. But you’d be wrong: the British carmaker came to Switzerland with the the Plus E concept, an all-electric version of the Aero 8 roadster fitted with a manual gearbox.

Morgan will be making the 3 wheeler again, and selling them in the US

the Morgan Motor Company is officially the largest British-owned carmaker in Britain, and still fashions cars out of ash wood and hand-beaten metal operating out of the same set of red brick sheds its founders erected in 1918.

Weighing 1000 pounds, powered by a fuel-injected American motorcycle engine mated to a Mazda Miata gearbox, making it capable of a 4.5-second dash to 60 mph and a top speed of more than 115 mph, and since it's a 3 wheeler... it's exempt from federal automotive emissions and safety standards. Like its forebears, it's classified as a motorcycle, which means that Morgan's eleven U.S. dealers are taking deposits on this 30-plus-mpg, $45,000 piece of built-to-order mechanical lunacy now.
