New Cadillac Ad Admits that Audi A6 is Faster than the CTS…in Price Depreciation

We are going to confess that before we pressed play on Cadillac's latest advert, we thought the concept would be similar to the brand's previous commercial that pitted an Escalade against a Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan

Disappointingly, this time, there was no race between the 2012 Cadillac CTS and the 2012 Audi A6 mid-size sedan.

All-New Audi RS6 Avant Fully Revealed in Patent Images [Correction: It's the RS4...]

Update: As some of you rightfully pointed out, we fell victim to Audi's one-style fits all approach and took L'Automobile's report for granted. As it turns out, these patent images ARE NOT of the RS6 but of the new RS4 Avant that was revealed back in February 2012.

Over the past few months, we have been following around prototypes of the next generation Audi RS6 while testing across Europe, and today, we can show you what the most powerful version of the latest A6 series will look like thanks to these images from the patent office.

Developed from the ground-up by Quattro GmbH, Audi's high-performance sub-division, the new RS6 Avant employs all the usual design cues you expect to find on an RS model.

New Audi A6 L e-tron Concept Plugs-in to the 2012 Beijing Auto Show

The "A6 technological study" that Audi told us it will debut at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing turned out to be a plug-in hybrid version of the domestic market long-wheelbase A6 with the e-tron moniker.

The concept model borrows the driveline found on the production A8 Hybrid, which brings together a 2.0-liter TFSI petrol that produces 208hp (211PS) and an electric motor with a peak output of 70kW (94hp/95PS).

Audi will Present Three World Premieres at the Beijing Auto Show

Earlier this week, Audi dropped the curtains on its sporty RS Q3 Concept, but it won't be the only world premiere the brand with the four rings has in store for us at next week's Auto China 2012 in Beijing.

The German automaker today announced that it would also debut a technology study based on the locally manufactured A6 L (long-wheelbase version of the sedan) and a second show car based on the Q3 compact crossover.

Spy Shots: 2014 Audi RS6 Avant Shows up at the Nürburgring Wearing its Production Body

In January, we brought you a set of scoop photos showing a test mule of the next RS6 Avant based on the S6 Avant. Now, our eagle-eyed spy photographers have spotted the actual 2013 (or 2014MY) RS6 Avant prototype while lapping the famed Nürburgring track in Germany.

And why are we so confident that this is indeed an RS6 Avant test car, we hear some of you ask? Well, there are several telltale signs proving that this is an RS model, including the honeycomb-style front grille and brake air vents, the wider wheel arches and of course, the twin-tail pipes, all of which are signature traits of Audi's RS lineup.

If you take an even closer look at the pictures, you will also see the massive brake discs trying to hide behind the five-spoke alloy wheels.

Audi officials are keeping their cards close to their chest about the new RS6's drivetrain, but it is believed that the previous model's 571bhp 5.0-liter bi-turbo V10 could be replaced by an upgraded version of Audi's new 4.0-liter TSI that powers Audi's S6 and S7 (420HP) as well as the S8 (520HP) and the Bentley Continental models (500HP).
